
If iPhoto is acting sluggish, rebuilding its database can sometimes help improve performance. First back up your files, then hold down command and option while opening iPhoto. Select “Rebuild all of the photos’ thumbnails” and “Examine and repair iPhoto Library file permissions”. Hit Rebuild and wait for iPhoto to complete the tasks (it may take a while).

Did you know that you can change the size of a photo once you’ve attached it to an email in Apple Mail? This is quite handy, especially if your image is too large to send. You don’t even have to open up iPhoto or Photoshop to do it.

If you’re an iPhoto user, a quick way to clean up space on your computer is to empty iPhoto’s trash. Whenever you delete a photo in iPhoto, it doesn’t actually delete it. It keeps it in the trash until you choose to empty it. All you have to do is go to the iPhoto menu and click Empty Trash. But beware, any deleted photos will be gone forever!
