Tech Tips for Non-Technical People

Non-technical people need tech tips, too! Here are some tricks (mostly Mac) for making the most out of online resources and technology. Have a question? Fill out the suggestion form below and I might create a tip just for you.

Faxing Services

Faxing Services

Don’t have a fax machine? There are several free and low cost services online you can use to send or receive faxes. All you need is a computer, an email account, and your document in PDF or Word Doc format.

FaxZero
Send up to 3 pages for free (an ad will be included on the cover page). For only $1.99 per fax you can send up to 15 pages with no ads. You cannot receive faxes through FaxZero, only send them.

K7
Get a free Seattle-based phone number to receive faxes; the documents are delivered straight to your email account. You cannot send faxes with K7, only receive them.

MyFax and eFax
Both services give you a local or toll-free fax number with which you can send and receive faxes. They have a range of plans for only $10-40 per month.

If you’d like to read more, Lifehacker has a great round-up and comparison of these services on their website.
