Computer Related Pain

Working long hours at a computer can take a toll on your body, causing problems like Repetitive strain injury (RSI). If you use a computer a lot, it’s important to take care of your body before the pain starts. Here are a few tips:

  • Take frequent breaks
  • Stretch and strengthen your arms and legs
  • Alternate between using your keyboard and mouse
  • Use a wrist support and possibly an ergonomic keyboard
  • Learn to sit with good posture

Zip Files

Zipping files are a way of archiving and compressing your data. A ZIP file contains one or more files that have been compressed to reduce file size. Think of a very well packed suitcase, it’s much more efficient and smaller than a heap of clothes.

Converting Files

Have you ever had a file in a format you can’t read on your computer? Maybe it was created in a newer version of Word, or it’s a music file you can’t listen to. If you have a Google account, you can upload Word/Excel files to Google Docs and read them there or export them. You can also try Zamzar, a free online file conversion tool.
